World Bear Day celebrates all bears, regardless of species.  Though some are doing well, like the American black bear, others are Vulnerable (IUCN Red List) or Threatened (ESA) like the Andean (spectacled) bear. Andean Bear

This day is to raise awareness about manatees, their habitats, and the challenges they face.  This is a US appreciation day so focuses on the West Indian manatee or Florida manatee.

This day honors beavers and the people who study them.
