Welcome to Zoo Folk®

This is a blog about different zoos I have visited. Press the button above to see my most recent posts.

Initially for each zoo I visited I will provide visiting information, like how mobility friendly they are and places to eat. And the focus of this site was to be the stories of my visits, like the animals I see and information I have picked up about those animals.

After launching my blog in 2021, I found there was little interest in the blog from the targeted audience: kids and young adults. However, I was getting recognized by zoo staff and professionals. Also along the way, zoo staff, friends and relatives suggested I do a podcast. So, I will now turn my emphasis to zoo enthusiasts. That may be people who really enjoy going to zoos, zoo keepers and other staff, or college students interested in zoos or better yet becoming zoo vets.

The first 11 zoos below are from zoos I’ve already written up.

Specific zoos I’ve posted about:

  1. Saint Louis Zoo, St. Louis, Missouri
  2. Tracy Aviary, Salt Lake City, Utah
  3. Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago, Illinois
  4. Woodland Park Zoo, Seattle, Washington
  5. Great Plains Zoo, Sioux Falls, South Dakota
  6. Henry Doorly Omaha Zoo, Omaha, Nebraska
  7. Rio Grande Zoo, BioPark, Albuquerque, New Mexico
  8. Sedgwick County Zoo, Wichita, Kansas
  9. Northwest Trek Game Park, Eatonville (south Tacoma), Washington
  10. Kansas City Zoo, Kansas City, Missouri

So let’s start visiting zoos
