  • Save the Rhino Day

    This is a day not only to bring awareness and education about what exactly is happening with these wonderful animals (all 5 species are either endangered or critically endangered) but to also learn new things about these animals and celebrate them. Black Rhinoceros

  • Wild Koala Day

    A day to celebrate wild koalas and protect their habitats. Unfortunately I have no photos of wild koalas

  • National Endangered Species Day

    This is a day to recognize all the endangered species and the effects on the biodiversity of the planet.  For example both these species are extinct in the wild. Guam Kingfisher Socorro Dove

  • Penguin Awareness Day

    This is a day to become more informed about penguins and their current issues.  For example the Galapagos penguin is the only penguin that sometimes swims into the northern hemisphere, it is also an endangered species. King Penguins second only to Emperor Penguins in size

  • Squirrel Appreciation Day

    This is the day to appreciate squirrels, for which there are 122 species of "tree" squirrels. Prevost's Squirrel    

  • International Zebra Day

    This day is to learn and protect zebras.  There are three species of zebra, the plains zebra (doing well), the mountain zebra (vulnerable/threatened), and Grevy's zebra (endangered).
