  • Manatee Appreciation Day

    This day is to raise awareness about manatees, their habitats, and the challenges they face.  This is a US appreciation day so focuses on the West Indian manatee or Florida manatee.

  • World Civet Day

    World Civet Day highlight the unique role civets play in ecosystems and the threats they face, especially from the unethical kopi luwak (civet coffee) trade, with themes focusing on conservation, education, and promoting responsible choices like avoiding exploited wildlife products.

    This was established by...American TORTOISE rescue.  It is designed to raise awareness of turtle and tortoise conservation.  This year I believe the theme is on sea turtles.

    This day was established by the International Otter Survival Fund. It was designed to help draw attention to otters, celebrate them, and raise awareness and support for their conservation globally.  For example, the giant otter of South America.
