This annual day is dedicated to celebrating and raising awareness about crocodiles, encouraging everyone to learn more about these amazing reptiles    

This day was chosen to celebrate the world's tallest animal on the longest day or night (depending on which hemisphere you live) of the year.  How cool is that!! I call this my Missouri giraffe photo with a piece of grass hanging out of the mouth.

The day recognizes the importance of camels in history, culture, and as a symbol of resilience and endurance.

This could almost be an April Fools Day.  It doesn't celebrate the bird but the pink flamingo lawn ornaments!  It tickled me so I decided to share it.

The Vaquita is possibly the most endangered mammal species in the world, with less than 10 left (possibly as low as 6).  It can't be held in captivity & the Mexican government has basically written it off as unsaveable.

The day is an opportunity to celebrate dolphins, to share information about their intelligence and sentience, and to promote conservation initiatives.  It’s also a chance to raise awareness of the threats dolphins are facing. These include hunting, commercial exploitation, entanglement in fishing gear, and habitat loss due to human activities.    

The idea of this day is to tackle the stigma and raise awareness about the reality of sharks, which are beautiful creatures that keep the ocean ecosystem running and rarely attack humans. Various kinds of sharks

The day is dedicated to raising awareness about orcas and their threats, and increasing protection for them and their oceans. 

The day is a dedicated time to celebrate and raise awareness about chimpanzees and their conservation, particularly in the wild and in captive situations.
